TERAHA’s aim is to promote the sport of endurance riding and the Arabian horse in the Townsville region.
Endurance riding is a worldwide sport, fast growing in popularity amongst all horse enthusiasts. The spirit of endurance riding is embodied in the the motto “to complete is to win”.
The Arabian horse is the oldest purebred horse breed in the world and is the basis of all modern horse breeds. It is not essential to ride an Arabian horse in endurance however the breed and it’s derivatives excel at this sport, and all other equine disciplines. This is one of the many reasons TERAHA aims to promote this truly versatile breed. There is also an annual trophy for the most versatile Arabian of the year awarded by the club.
All ages of riders & all breeds of horses are encouraged to come along and give endurance a go. Rides can range anywhere from 5km to over 100km. However for greater distances both horses & riders need to to qualify before being able to compete in these. TERAHA also offer some games days, fun rides & Hack & harness days when there is support for these events. This club is run by members for members so if you can contribute in anyway please let us know!
